Early years 1996
Founded by Eileen van Greunen in early 1996, Specifying Techniques was first called Specifying Dynamics and consisted of two partners, Eileen van Greunen and Jennifer Sandham.
The business ran from a spare room in Eileen's family home.
After a separation of the original partners, Specifying Techniques was established as a stand-alone company with the aim of being a technical resource for Built Environment organisations.
To this day, Specifying Techniques carries Eileen's vision of expertise, excellence and accuracy as both our founding principals and daily compass.
Expansion to Kwazulu Natal and the Free State.
Offices were established in two of the busiest cities in South Africa, Durban and Bloemfontein. Cape Town and Port Elizabeth followed shortly after in 2001.
Our African Footprint.
In 2013 we established a permanent presence in Windhoek to cover Namibia.
Construction of our first owned and operated fully commercial building starts in Bedfordview, Johannesburg.
Eileen can be seen here showing off the scale of the project.
